Grass Spider with an ant...
Mr. P. took this photo of a Grass Spider at his house on 5/25/01. The spider is only about 1/2"
in length, which is tiny compared to the big, scary ones one may see later in the summer. These spiders are very common; one may find many around the shrubs and woods near the house. The blocky appearance of the background is due to jpg compression (to save webspace). The original photo was 5.5 mb., which I trimmed to 400 kb., and then compressed to 11 kb. I can put hundreds of 11 kb. pix on this website !!!
