Garden Spider

I took this photo of a garden spider in September 1998 at my home. I used an Olympus D-200L Digital camera in high resolution, macro mode. The lens was only inches from the arachnid. I'm impressed. The egg sac is brown and about 1" in diameter. Leave it alone and you may find more garden spiders around next year.
