Mr. P. has a pretty cool yellow jacket hole in his yard...

Mr. Patterson took this photo of a yellow jacket nest entrance hole in his yard in August 2001. The camera was about 3 inches from the entrance. The yellow jackets shown here are in flight. Yellow jacket nests are very active this time of year because it's still warm and the nest is very large. There are probably hundreds in there. They come in and out by the dozens per minute.
